PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and maintains applications for business processes and systems.
- Authors Technical Designs (TDs) that define how a functional design will be technically enabled.
- Ensures that standards and policies are adhered to.
- Develops and unit tests application programs as specified in Technical Designs.
- Provides production support of applications in production by trouble shooting issues, proposing solutions, develops and tests fixes, and migrates solution.
- Create and maintain database storage structures and objects.
SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree required; Software Engineering, or Computer Science degree preferred; advanced degree is desirable.
- Must have Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) background.
- Strong Java development skills (Spring Framework and Hibernate Framework).
- Solid markup skills (HTML/XHTML/CSS), with a preference for familiarity & experience with CSS3 / HTML 5 technologies.
- Experience with dynamic presentation technologies – JavaScript / jQuery.
- Experience with asynchronous communication technologies such as AJAX.
- Automated unit testing and mock testing experience in TestNG or JUnit.

The Citrix XenApp Administrator will provide day-to-day administration, engineering, architecture, and support services in a Citrix XenDesktop/VMware vSphere hosted environment. Requires a deep practical understanding of virtualization technologies and best practices utilizing Citrixand VMware products. The XenApp Administrator will also be responsible for some design and development work, especially installing new applications to the test environment and determining what settings must be applied to get them to work. AppSense Environment Manager and ThinPrint would be a plus. Must be team oriented with good communication skills (both verbal and written).
Responsibilities:
Support and maintain existing XenDesktop 4 production and test environments.
Includes installing updates for XenDesktop, Microsoft Server and VMWare ESX.
Troubleshooting end-to-end issues from Client (Citrix Receiver) to Server (XenDesktop/VMWare).
Ensure timely and accurate problem resolution when issues arise.
Create, develop and update documentation for all configurations, standards and critical procedures within the existing Citrix XenDesktop environment including XenApp or vSphere where applicable.
Ensure the XenDesktop production environment is available at all times during normal and extended business hours.
Administer Citrix licensing and resolve licensing issues to ensure licensing compliance of any installed applications within the environment.
Fulfill duties and responsibilities assigned or delegated from time-to-time by the Manager or his/her designee.
Assist with daily responsibilities that include, but not limited to, management of server images, application and OS installations and images, deploying physical servers and documentation.
Reset user roaming profiles.
Assign users to published applications.
Log off hung sessions.
Troubleshoot server connectivity issues and verify that servers are available to users.
Troubleshoot printing issues.
Update documentation to reflect changes or fixes to Citrix servers.
Administer Citrix Web Interface servers.
Design and Engineering:
Install new apps to test environment, resolve application issues, and document results.
Create new server images, install apps, and configure XenApp.
Develop launch scripts to configure application settings for the Citrix environment.
Work with other departments to develop and document application requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years experience with design, configuration and implementation of Citrix XenDesktop 4 and 5
2 years experience with design and implementation of Citrix Provisioning Services
2 years experience with VMware ESX 4 and 5
Experience with Citrix XenDesktop suite of products
Strong understanding of Windows 2003/2008 R2
Experience with WYSE Thin client devices
Experience with AppSense and Thinprint are a plus
